Early May 2006 Sightings
Saw Male ruby-throated hummingbird 5/10/2006 morning in front yard mailbox coral honeysuckle.
Saw female ruby-throated hummingbird 5/10/2006 during rain at my back window feeder
Saw male and female ruby-throated hummingbird 5/11/2006 in front yard mailbox coral honeysuckle and pineapple sage in pots.
Interesting part: Female drove male away from mailbox coral honeysuckle. I don't know if I've ever seen that before.
Wondering if male was her offspring from last year and didn't want to put up with him. Or my even more dreamy thought is that she is nesting closer by than past years and will visit more often as a result and is protecting her food source. Because usually I would see female very rarely during spring...figuring nest was too far away for visiting our yards. Would be cool if nest was close to get more visits from from female.
Tennessee warblers have been in locust tree last few days. they are not too exciting however, plummage-wise.
